Although these cribs are usually smaller, 24″x38″, they will serve as a restful retreat for your newborn. You can expect to pay anywhere between $20.00 and $300.00 for a crib with a folding, portable design.

Cradle Cribs: This design was meant originally for newborns, cradle bedding features rockers to lull your baby comfortably to sleep. Typically they have very narrow slats to prevent children from getting their arms or legs stuck and have very low railings. This is because newborns are not expected to crawl out of their cribs, which also makes leaning over much easier on a tired parent. Although they are not recommended for older children due to the lower railings, they are the perfect baby shower gift for a new parent that may be expecting a larger family in the future.

Toddler Bedding: Crafted to replicate an older childs bed, toddler beds can compliment a boy or girls room. Unlike a crib, that has high side railings and is raised up, these beds are lower to the ground with much lower railings. This is because toddlers are expected to get in and out of bed by themselves, but need a little security while sleeping. They will safety prevent your child from rolling off the bed without jarring their sleep. These low railings are what set these toddler beds apart from standard beds that do not offer this feature.
