Car Booster Seats
Booster Seats: These car seats are designed to prop up the child so that the child using it comfortably fits in the lap belt and shoulder belt. Booster seats are usually made from a plastic frame covered with a soft foam. The most difficult part about buying a booster seat is knowing if it is the right size for your child. You can tell if your child is too big for their booster seat if they meet one of the following points listed:
- If your child’s shoulders are above the highest harness slots.
- If you child’s ears are above the back of the seat.
- If your child’s weight exceeds the heaviest weight recommended.
- If your child’s height exceeds the tallest height recommended.
You should always remember that when using a child booster seat, the lap belt should fit comfortably and snuggly across your childs waist (or upper thigh). Also, the shoulder strap should fit across the middle of your childs chest and collar bone.
